Benefits to pursuing LEED with a concrete Polish/Stain floor system.
- Restoring an existing concrete floor, for example, reduces the “Environmental” impact that new construction or demolition would generate.
- The thermal mass of your decorative concrete floor tends to reduce heating and cooling loads.
- The process, mechanically and chemically, minimizes exposure to hazardous components and environmental pollution
- The exceptional durability of your decorative floor means no demolition or disposal issues that come with VCT, tile and carpet
- Stained floors need floor wax - polished floors do not - although some may choose to apply floor wax. Whichever option is chosen both are low maintenance compared to other flooring .
- Increased reflectivity from your polished or stained floor often contributes to reduced lighting and energy costs
How Concreators go a step further then the rest when it comes to being “Green”:-
1. Concreators has a fleet of Diesel trucks and flat beds all of which are powered by Bio Diesel. Our Generators and Compressors are also powered by Bio Diesel and some of them run on vegetable oil.
2. Concreators uses only low Voc, environmentally sound, green building materials for concrete staining and polishing. Most of the products we use will contribute to earning LEED® credits.
3. Concreators collects and removes the neutralized residue from our staining operations to our facility for storage in metal containers to allow evaporation.
In conclusion, by utilizing “Concreators manufactured systems” you can contribute up tot 5 (five) points towards Leed Certification. Our goal at Concreators is to help you achieve Platinum and Silver Levels.
